City of Gonzales Facemask Requirements
Effective midnight April 27.
Following Governor Edwards’ press conference, Mayor Barney Arceneaux announced that individual businesses could make their own decisions and set their own requirements.
The City of Gonzales still requires masks to be worn in City Hall and city-owned buildings that serve the public. Private meetings or gatherings held in City Hall will require masks, unless 100% of attendees are fully vaccinated.
Events held at the Civic Center will follow Governor Edwards’ recommendation for events, 75% capacity with social distancing and 100% capacity with masks.
“I remind our citizens that the pandemic is still here and strongly recommend everyone follow the advice of our health care experts,” Mayor Arceneaux said.
