City of Gonzales Activates Emergency Warming Center

Gonzales, LA – January 20, 2025 – Due to the extreme cold temperatures and severe Winter Weather, the City of Gonzales is activating an emergency warming center effective January 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The warming center will be open to provide shelter and warmth for those in need.

Details:

  • Location(s): Gonzales Civic Center (219 S Irma Blvd, Gonzales, La 70737)
  • Hours of Operation: 24/7, until further notice
  • Services Offered: Warm shelter, cots, meals ready to eat (MREs), and blankets.
  • Eligibility: Open to all individuals in need of warmth.

Please help spread the word to ensure that vulnerable individuals have access to this critical resource during this extreme weather event.

Those who choose to stay at the warming center will be required to sign a waiver of liability and agree to follow all posted rules.

It is important to note that the Warming Station is not equipped to accommodate pets or individuals with special medical needs. Visitors to the facility are required to be ambulatory and able to care for themselves. There are no exceptions.
