Rest In Peace, Wally Taillon

Wally Paul Taillon, born on November 27, 1945, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at the age of 80.

A proud member of his community, Wally served as President of The Jambalaya Festival Association for more than 20 years after winning the title of Jambalaya King in 1993.

Wally’s legacy of hard work, community involvement, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.


In the words of Heaven’s Care:

Mr. Wally was always willing to lend a helping hand, share an encouraging word, offer heartfelt prayers, and inspire others with his wisdom and faith. He played an important role in helping us feed individuals experiencing homelessness during Christmas in previous years and generously supported our mission by providing delicious plates of jambalaya that brought comfort and joy to so many.

His dedication to helping others and his unwavering support of our cause will never be forgotten. The lives he touched and the smiles he helped create are a lasting testament to the wonderful person he was.

Mr. Wally, you will be truly missed, but your legacy of kindness, service, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew you. Thank you for everything you did for our community and for Heavens Care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Taillon and Bertha Anderson Taillon; and his brothers, Gilbert Taillon and Alfred Taillon.

Wally leaves behind his loving wife, Rita Taillon; his children, Darrin and Kellie Taillon; his brother, Arthur Taillon Jr.; his grandchild, Joshua Taillon; and his great-granddaughter, Amari.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., with a committal service to follow at Hope Haven.
