The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintenance of city roadways, solid waste collection and recycling, roadside drainage, wastewater, water and gas utilities, stormwater management, recreational facilities, and infrastructure project management within the city limits.

Solid Waste and Recycling
The City of Gonzales is proud to offer recycling services at no cost to our residents. To participate in the recycling initiative, residents can pick up a free recycling bin at City Hall during standard business hours. All recyclables are collected on Mondays via curbside collection, with the exception of any service interruptions or holidays.
