Mayor Tim Riley proudly named Eldridge Romain LeBlanc as Gonzales’ Citizen of the Year, giving LeBlanc the Key to the City during Monday’s meeting of the Gonzales City Council.

LeBlanc was joined by his family, immediate and extended, along with friends to pack the City Council Meeting Room. Mayor Riley began the presentation with a reading of the Proclamation that highlights LeBlanc’s commitment to family and fellow citizens (excerpted below):
Eldridge Romain LeBlanc, affectionately known as “Remy” or “Remy Ro”, was born on October 27, 1986, to proud parents Eldridge and Anita LeBlanc, and is a devoted husband to Meoshia L. LeBlanc and loving father to four children: Cameron, Mya, Cambri, and Mahki.
He is the founder of LEAD (Love, Educate, Advocate, and Dream), a youth mentoring organization dedicated to empowering young people and fostering positive change within the community.
He exemplifies the spirit of generosity and compassion, often sacrificing his own resources to feed, clothe, and shelter those in need, including the homeless and afflicted.
LeBlanc is a talented entrepreneur and a certified FEMA claims adjuster who earned outstanding recognition from the Crawford Company in Dallas TX for his honorable service and unwavering commitment to assisting individuals impacted by devastating storms across multiple estates.
As a mentor for Young Men of Character, he has made a profound impact in schools throughout Gonzales, inspiring youth to overcome obstacles and pursue lives of purpose and integrity.

His mission is to unite parents, families, and community leaders in a powerful call to action to save our youth and protect their future, sharing his own life experiences to guide others toward better choices grounded in faith, strength, and opportunity.
Eldridge Romain LeBlanc continually reminds us to keep God first in all things, serving as a beacon of hope and a role model for selflessness, perseverance, and community service.
RESOLVED that I, Timothy “Tim” Riley, Mayor of the City of Gonzales, together with the City Council, do proudly recognize Eldridge Romain “Remy” LeBlanc as the 2025 Citizen of the Year for his extraordinary dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to improving lives and strengthening our community.
FURTHER RESOLVED that, in honor of his exceptional service and devotion to the people of Gonzales, the Key to the City hereby presented to Eldridge Romain “Remy” LeBlanc, symbolizing our deepest gratitude and trust.
